Rock the Block Society Is Official — Here’s What We’re Building

Rock the Block Society is here — and we’re so excited to finally share what this is all about.

We’re a community-powered nonprofit based in New Westminster, BC, created to make live music more accessible, more welcoming, and way easier to say “yes” to — whether you’re showing up as an audience member, a first-time performer, or someone who’s wanted to join in for years but didn’t know where to start.

What we believe

We believe live music should feel like a community space — not an exclusive club. That means:

• Beginners belong

• All ages are welcome

• Participation matters more than perfection

• Cost shouldn’t be the reason someone stays home

What we’re building right now

Here’s what your support is helping us make real:

• A pop-up stage + sound kit so we can host music in parks, plazas, and neighbourhood spaces without relying on expensive rentals

• Community jam nights that are friendly, low-pressure, and open to all levels

• Local artist showcases that amplify musicians and build a stronger local scene

• An access-first approach so more people can attend, participate, and feel included

How you can be part of it
